Professor Jintao Xu

Boya Distinguished Professor at Peking University; Director of the Center for Environment and Energy Economics.

Professor Xu Jintao received his M.A. in Economics (1996) and Ph.D. in Forestry (Natural Resource Economics, 1999) from Virginia Tech. His research focuses on environmental and resource economics, particularly pollution control policy, land-use change and greenhouse gas mitigation, and forest. economics.

He has led major national and international research projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the State Forestry Administration, and the World Bank, contributing to evidence-based policymaking on ecosystem services, sustainable land management, and rural environmental governance.

Professor Xu also serves as Associate Editor of the American Journal of Agricultural Economics and on the Editorial Board of the Journal of Environmental Economics and Management.
