Johannes Jacob

Johannes Jacob is an Advisor for Data- and AI-based Policymaking at the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ). On behalf of the BMZ Data Lab, he supports governments in leveraging data and artificial intelligence to strengthen evidence-based policymaking for the public good while also sharing lessons learned with the broader German ecosystem.

Before joining GIZ, Mr. Jacob served at the Executive Office of the United Nations Secretary-General for three years, where he managed the implementation of a UN-wide human rights initiative, contributed to the organization’s pandemic response, and was part of the drafting team for the Secretary-General’s Our Common Agenda report.
