Irene Suarez Perez

Irene Suarez Perez is a Senior Advisor at Global Optimism for Nature and Food System Transformation, Strategy Advisor at Restor. With over 15 years of experience in climate change and sustainable development, Irene leads the Nature Team at Climate Champions, part of the Action Agenda of the Paris Agreement—a global initiative that catalyzes ambitious climate action from non-state actors. Her mission is to promote a resilient, net-zero, nature-positive, and equitable future for all, aligned with the Paris Agreement and the Sustainable Development Goals.

She has a proven track record of delivering impactful results in policy, practice, and finance at local, national, regional, and global levels. Irene has supported the design of climate plans and legislation, low-emission development strategies, nature-positive pathways, and adaptation measures through the use of economic tools and financial mechanisms. She has also advised and collaborated with diverse stakeholders across governments, civil society, the private sector, philanthropy, funding agencies, and multilateral organizations to foster systemic approaches to transformation.

As an advisor to the Board of Restor and the Impact Committee of the Eco-Enterprises Fund, she contributes to climate action, ecosystem conservation and restoration, and sustainable development efforts that enhance the environmental and social outcomes of investments and projects.
