Rolf-Dieter Jungk
Dr. Rolf-Dieter Jungk has been State Secretary at the Federal Ministry of Research, Technology, and Space since May 2025. He studied law at the University of Passau and worked at the Bavarian State Ministry of Economic Affairs and Technology from 1991 to 1999, initially in the Department of Energy Policy, then in the Department of Technology Policy, and subsequently as Deputy Press Officer. He then took a leave of absence from the civil service and worked in the legal department of Bayernwerk AG and E.ON. Energie AG from 1999 to 2001. From 2001 to 2016, he worked at the Bavarian State Chancellery: first as head of the “Economic and Energy Policy” department, then as head of the “Press and Public Relations” group, and then as head of the “Media Policy, Media Industry” group. Other positions there included deputy head of the “Economic, Science, Transport, and Environmental Policy” department, then head of the “Economic, Science, and Media Policy” department, and most recently head of the “Human Resources and Administration” department. From 2016 to 2018, he was the representative of the Free State of Bavaria to the federal government. He then served as head of the Bavarian State Ministry of Science and the Arts from 2019 to 2025.
