Dr. Friedemann Call

Friedemann Call is Scientific Advisor at the German IPCC Coordination Office located at the DLR Project Management Agency. As a physicist, he contributes to the reviews and approvals of IPCC reports for the German Government and actively engage in shaping the IPCC process. He advises Federal Ministry of Research, Space and Technology (BMFTR) on climate science in both national and international political contexts. His expertise helps ensure that the BMFTR’s research funding strategy addresses key knowledge gaps identified in IPCC reports, thereby supporting evidence-based climate policy. Within the UNFCCC process, Friedemann follows the agenda item on Research and Systematic Observation (RSO), where he works to strengthen the science–policy interface and advance evidence-based global climate action.
