Lucy Njuguna

Dr. Lucy Njuguna is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Alliance of Bioversity International and CIAT, based in Nairobi. She co-leads the Adaptation Insights project and contributes to the Livestock and Climate Initiative.

She holds a PhD from the Public Administration and Policy chair group of Wageningen University & Research, a Master of Science in Environmental Governance from the University of Freiburg, and a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Conservation and Natural Resource Management from the University of Nairobi.
Dr. Njuguna has authored several publications and serves as a technical expert under the UAE–Belém work programme, where she supports the development of indicators for the Global Goal on Adaptation. She is also a lead author of the 2023 and 2024 edition of the UNEP Adaptation Gap Report.
