Diana Ürge-Vorsatz

Diana Ürge-Vorsatz is a Professor at Central European University and serves as Vice-Chair of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) since July 2023. She previously served as Vice-Chair of IPCC Working Group III during AR6 and Coordinating Lead Author for AR4 and AR5. She served as the chair of the scientific steering committee for the IPCC Special Report on Climate Change and Cities. Her role involved coordinating the development of the report’s scope and outline with the scientific steering committee as well as a group of experts, and leading the outline through the panel’s approval . Holding a PhD from UC Berkeley, she has worked at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory and led projects for the European Commission, UNEP, and World Bank.
