Chiamaka Rita Akpuogwu

Chiamaka Rita Akpuogwu is a migration researcher and trained lawyer with a master’s degree in Migration Studies (with distinction). Her work focuses on the nexus of climate change, displacement and reintegration, examining how climate vulnerability influences the mobility trajectories of returnees and deportees. Drawing on academic research, hands-on capacity building with displaced communities, and lived experience in flood-prone Lagos, she brings a grounded, human-centred perspective to global conversations on climate mobility.
