Hambardzum Matevosyan
Hambardzum Matevosyan is the Armenian Minister of Environment and the COP17 President for the Convention on Biological Diversity. He studied world sciences at Grossmont College and later earned a degree in international relations, international
security, and conflict resolution from San Diego State University. His career began in international student coordination in the United States, followed by advisory and market roles linked to the Armenian Consulate in Donetsk. He later served as Manager of the College of Humanities and Social Sciences at the American University of Armenia. Matevosyan was Governor of Armavir Province (2018–2021), Deputy Prime Minister (2021–2022), and Chief Adviser to the Prime Minister (2023–2025). He became Minister of Environment in 2025.
