Tasneem Sied Ahmed

IIED Junior Negotiators ProgrammIIED Junior Negotiators Programme

Tasneem Sied Ahmed is a Sudanese environmental researcher, plastic engineer, and climate advocate. Her work focuses on the intersection of climate change, conflict, and urban resilience in fragile contexts like Sudan. She is a Loss and Damage negotiator and part of the IIED Junior Negotiators Programme.
Tasneem previously worked with the Conflict and Environment Observatory (CEOBS), researching how war harms the environment using satellite images and open-source tools.
She is currently a Trustee at Alwakeel, a local charity in Atbra City Sudan that supports displaced families .
In addition to policy and research, Tasneem has extensive on the ground and volunteering experience with Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) and local Sudanese NGOs, supporting large scale humanitarian interventions. She is committed to bridging science, policy, and community action for just and sustainable recovery.
