Hans-Jürgen Walter is the Global Leader of the Sustainable Finance Practice at Deloitte, where he spearheads initiatives in sustainable transformation financing. With over 28 years of professional experience, Hans-Jürgen has held significant international senior leadership roles, demonstrating expertise in general management and financial accountability. Prior to his current position, he led the Financial Services Practice for Deloitte Germany and EMEA for several years, showcasing his ability to manage multi-national and multi-disciplinary teams effectively.

Before joining Deloitte, Hans-Jürgen managed the banking and financial markets business for IBM and Capgemini in Germany and Switzerland. Throughout his career, he has been dedicated to the financial services market, advising clients on business and IT strategy and transformation, risk management, regulatory issues, and sustainable finance.

Hans-Jürgen is actively involved in financing the energy transition, working with leading associations and companies in the energy and financial sectors to drive impactful change. His comprehensive approach and strategic insights make him a pivotal figure in the realm of sustainable finance.
