Dr. Jorge Islas Samperio

Dr. Jorge Marcial Islas Samperio is a Senior Researcher at the Institute of Renewable Energies, National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), and a leading expert in energy transition and climate change mitigation. He holds a Ph.D. in Energy Economics from the University of Grenoble Alpes, France. Dr. Islas has authored numerous scientific publications and books on renewable energy and decarbonization, including Towards a Low-Carbon Mexican Energy System, a key reference for Mexico’s energy policy. He has served as visiting professor in France and Spain and coordinated the Energy Panel for the “Dialogues for Transformation” initiative led by Dr. Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo.
