Ways Forward for Responding to Loss and Damage

Losses and damages are unavoidable, set to increase with the adaptation and mitigation gaps and will have severe implications on human security. The session will discuss key demands for Loss and Damage at COP30 and beyond. Panelists will further showcase responses to address loss and damage, such as through a National Mechanism on L&D envisioned in Bangladesh, the multifaceted role of migration in the face of climate impacts, and inclusive financial and social protection systems.
